Born and raised only 5 minutes from the Craftsman shop on Main Street, Raj Johal began his love affair with cars at an early age – first with the TV show Knight Rider, then when he was old enough, with cars of his own.
“I am extremely passionate about my 2005 Mustang GT,” he says. “On weekends I’m usually at the Friday night drag races at Mission Raceway and at car shows.”
With Craftsman for 14 years – nine as Assistant Manager, and five as Manager – Raj says his organizational zeal has been one of his key traits that has brought him much success in managing a collision repair shop. As well as, courses from Dale Carnegie such as How to Win Friends and Influence People and Leadership Training for Managers seminar series has helped him deal effectively with feedback from his staff as well as from customers.
“Whether it be customers, friends or family, I would like to be remembered as fun-loving, caring and passionate,” he says.
Craftsman’s Cambie Street location opened in 1978, the first location in our 41-shop chain.
