The 18th annual Georgia Straight’s Best of Vancouver September issue just hit the streets. It revealed many things including Craftsman Collision being nominated for the sixth year in a row, the Best of Vancouver in auto body repair. Thank you to all of our loyal customers that voted for us, we look forward to continuing to provide you with exemplary customer service and a quality repair that has earned us the accolade of “Best of Vancouver”. In addition, we were recently Voted #1 for Business Excellence in Auto Body Repair by the Consumer Choice Awards for 12 years running.
To anyone who set foot in the first Craftsman Collision location in 1977, it was obvious from the friendly smiles and crisp uniforms that it wasn’t just about cars we were repairing. Our goal was nothing less than to rebuild the image of a badly tarnished industry.
Today that first shop on the corner of 6th and Yukon in Vancouver is joined by 32 others in B.C. and Alberta – more than any other independently owned collision repair in Canada. And all of our 400 plus employees are still as committed to leadership in quality and professionalism.
Not only do we care about providing excellent customer service and quality repairs to our clients, we also care greatly about the communities in which we do business. The company has donated a quarter of a million dollars to North Vancouver’s Lions Gate Hospital to help upgrade emergency room equipment and continually supports many other charities such as the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Salvation Army and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Of course, no one wants to think about having an accident. But if misfortune strikes you, we hope you’ll remember where to turn. You’ll be glad you did.
Murphy joined Craftsman in 2007 as an assistant manager and within a year was promoted to Manager of our North Vancouver (west) location. For the past 5 years, he has headed a staff of 22 employees and mentored students pursuing automotive careers. He was recently promoted to Manager of the West 6th Avenue location, one of our busiest locations in BC. Born and raised in North Vancouver, he was awarded a football scholarship at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. After completing his undergraduate degree there in history and sociology, he moved to Rome to play for the Lazio Marines of NFL Italy – and also discover a love for Europe’s many cultures and cuisines. Back in Canada, Murphy appreciates the business training he is getting at Craftsman and the success and increased business he has helped bring about. He recently completed his MBA through Royal Roads University. He enjoys fine cuisine, sports and spending time at their cabin on BC’s Galiano Island. We’re delighted to have him as part of the management team and are sure customers at our West 6th Avenue shop will be as well.
