The 18th annual Georgia Straight’s Best of Vancouver September issue just hit the streets. It revealed many things including Craftsman Collision being nominated for the sixth year in a row, the Best of Vancouver in auto body repair. Thank you to all of our loyal customers that voted for us, we look forward to continuing to provide you with exemplary customer service and a quality repair that has earned us the accolade of “Best of Vancouver”. In addition, we were recently Voted #1 for Business Excellence in Auto Body Repair by the Consumer Choice Awards for 12 years running.
To anyone who set foot in the first Craftsman Collision location in 1977, it was obvious from the friendly smiles and crisp uniforms that it wasn’t just about cars we were repairing. Our goal was nothing less than to rebuild the image of a badly tarnished industry.
Today that first shop on the corner of 6th and Yukon in Vancouver is joined by 32 others in B.C. and Alberta – more than any other independently owned collision repair in Canada. And all of our 400 plus employees are still as committed to leadership in quality and professionalism.
Not only do we care about providing excellent customer service and quality repairs to our clients, we also care greatly about the communities in which we do business. The company has donated a quarter of a million dollars to North Vancouver’s Lions Gate Hospital to help upgrade emergency room equipment and continually supports many other charities such as the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Salvation Army and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Of course, no one wants to think about having an accident. But if misfortune strikes you, we hope you’ll remember where to turn. You’ll be glad you did.
Some of our best employees are prodigal sons – men (and sometimes women) who head for greener pastures then decide to return to the Craftsman fold. After eight years at Craftsman in the Lower Mainland, Toby Alderson left to pursue other positions in the autobody industry, but came back to us in November of 2012 to wear the manager’s hat at our Bridge Street location in downtown Victoria and most recently, transferred to the West 6th location as Manager. Like all our managers, Toby genuinely enjoys overseeing the process of restoring damaged cars to (in many case) near-new condition, especially when it triggers the ear-to-ear smiles on the faces of so many customers. Also in common with many of our managers is Toby’s spirit of volunteerism. He regularly participates in Craftsman’s frequent charity fundraisers, and coaches hockey off hours when he’s not out motocross riding or camping with his family. We’re delighted to have him as part of the management team and are sure customers at our West 6th Avenue shop will be as well.
