Craftsman clads BCIT Trailer

This newly decorated 22-foot trailer belongs to the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), and urges viewers: "Put your career in gear."

The image is of a race car (which the trailer carries) speeding past BCIT instructor Bryan Taylor and 26 actual students. The graphics and the 4x4 Ford F150 pickup truck that pulls the trailer were donated by Craftsman Collision.

The trailer travels to schools and events throughout the province to create awareness for the dozens of BCIT School of Transportation programs aimed at (among many other trades) future aerospace technicians, marine engineers and automotive collision repair technicians. It carries the $100,000 race car driven by Al Unser Jr to second place in the 1988 CART Champ car series.

Students in eight BCIT automotive programs use the race car to work with prototype technologies that will eventually be integrated into the cars of the future.

Over the years, Craftsman has contributed roughly $75,000 in work and vehicles to the BCIT School of Transportation.
