Craftsman pledges $250,000 to Lions Gate Emergency

Craftsman Collision has pledged to donate $250,000 to North Vancouver's Lions Gate Hospital.

Company President and owner Bill Hatswell has promised the sum over three years in response to a spring Emergency Campaign by Lions Gate aimed at rebuilding its ailing ER equipment.

The Lions Gate ER comprises a waiting room, triage station, first aid room, observation unit and trauma room. Needs in the trauma room include increased monitoring and radiology for three trauma beds, a portable x-ray unit, a blood warming and storage machine, paediatric equipment for airway management and a fibre optic intubation larangoscope.

Judy Savage, president of the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation, receives a cheque for $250,000 from Craftsman Collision's President and owner Bill Hatswell (right), and David Cant, Executive VP and Chief Financial Officer.

"Your early gift will be of immeasurable help, not only in funding the expansion and renovation of the ER, but also in attracting and setting the pace for additional leadership giving," said Campaign Chair Ken Rekrutiak in a letter. "I deeply appreciate your recognition of the need to improve our facility; to improve its efficiency and equip it with the state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment tools."
